DNA Repair Creme is part of the next generation (GEN IV) of technology to use enzymes and biotechnology to enhance your skin's recovery capabilities and to delay aging. These special enzymes that exist in nature, as well as in your body, are designed to repair damage to cellular DNA caused by exposure to solar radiation.

When your skin cells are exposed to large amounts of UV radiation, they undergo \"Apoptosis,\" or cellular death; consequently, your DNA is damaged. Apoptosis causes sunburn, reduces the skin's ability to repair itself, and unleashes tissue-damaging, inflammatory mediators from the immune system. This weakening of the skin's defense mechanism is the main biological feature of the chronological and light-induced aging process.

To protect your cells from Apoptosis, the DNA repair enzymes in your body attach directly to the DNA molecules and repair damage. Although these enzymes are present in the human body, they are not found in great abundance. The GEN IV technology is based on this naturally occurring process.

The enzyme is extracted from a certain type of bacterium and algae that thrive in very UV-intense environments. Once extracted, enzymes are placed in a liposomal delivery system designed to penetrate your skin, enter your cells, and release the enzymes for use by your cells.

Clinical studies have shown that the enzymes can help repair damage to your DNA, prevent damage to the repair mechanisms of the skin and the formation of carcinogenic precursors, and delay aging. DNA Repair Creme does not prevent sunburn. We recommend that you use a sunblock.
